1:1 Psychotherapy/Counselling

Pause. Breathe. Make space for yourself. When life feels overwhelming, slowing down can feel almost impossible. Your mind may be busy anticipating what could happen, replaying what you can’t change, or thinking about everything that needs to happen next. Maybe you’re longing to feel more grounded, connected, or like yourself again. At Seek Serenity, individual therapy begins with understanding the bigger picture, what you’ve been carrying, what matters to you, and what you want to feel or change. Together, we’ll explore the patterns, experiences, and emotions beneath the surface, while developing practical ways to move forward that feel realistic. What you can expect from therapy: • Somatic based approaches to explore the connection between your mind and body • Culturally responsive therapy that honours your identity, values, and relationships • Nervous system regulation • Psychoeducation to better understand your emotions, behaviours, and experiences • Support in building emotional awareness • Practical resources and between session exercises to support you beyond the therapy room Individual therapy is a space centred around you. Because of that, finding the right fit matters. If you’re wondering whether we might be a good fit, book a complimentary consultation today!

Parenting Support

You’re not a bad parent. You’re a human being parenting through a lot. There is no shortage of parenting advice; what to say, what not to say, how to respond, what consequences to use, how to set boundaries. And when your child is struggling, it can be easy to wonder, “What am I doing wrong?”, especially when you’re surrounded by so much advice about what you should be doing. Parenting support should feel like relief, not judgment, guilt, or another list of things you’re expected to get right. Parenting is already a lot. You don’t need more pressure to do it perfectly, instead you need support that helps you feel understood, and confident in your approach. We take the time to understand the whole story, not just the behaviour or challenge showing up in the moment. Our philosophy is when parents feel supported, understood, and confident, they are better able to respond to their children with connection and intention. Support may include: • Circle of Security concepts to strengthen attachment and connection • Understanding and managing parental guilt • Support with stress, overwhelm, and burnout • Play based approaches to build connection and communication • Nervous system regulation and co-regulation • Attachment based approaches • Navigating school related challenges • Culturally responsive parenting strategies that aligned with your family’s values Book a consultation today to connect!

Child/Youth & Family Counselling

As a parent or caregiver, navigating challenges with your child, youth, or family can feel overwhelming at times. Emotional ups and downs, changes in behaviour, school challenges, or strain within relationships may leave you wondering what’s going on and how best to help. At Seek Serenity, we work with children and youth beyond the behaviours you may be seeing, creating a space where they can feel heard, understood, and safe to explore and express their emotions. Together, we can work through challenges such as peer relationships, school stress, self-esteem, anxiety, and the changes that come with growing up. We also work collaboratively with parents and caregivers, offering practical tools and support to help navigate relational and behavioural challenges at home. Our goal is to strengthen connection, build understanding, and help families feel more confident moving forward together. Child & Youth Support: Depending on your child or youth’s needs, therapy may include: • Play based approaches to encourage expression, connection, and communication • Art based approaches to help children and youth explore and express what may be difficult to put into words • Breathwork and grounding tools to support calm and emotional regulation • Building emotional awareness and coping skills • Parent/child and family sessions to strengthen connection and understanding • Support navigating bullying, friendships, and peer relationships • Support with school related challenges, transitions, and stress • Psychosocial support through challenging experiences and life changes Family & Couples Counselling: Sometimes, the challenge isn’t just about one person, it’s about the patterns and dynamics within the relationship or family. Family and couples counselling provides space to slow down, communicate more openly, understand one another, and work toward meaningful change together. Depending on your needs, we may incorporate: • Gottman informed approaches to strengthen communication, rebuild connection, and better understand the patterns that can create distance in relationships • Polyvagal informed approaches to understand how stress and the nervous system can shape the way we communicate, respond, and connect • Exploring communication patterns and non-verbal cues to better understand what is being communicated beyond words • Narrative therapy to explore the stories, beliefs, and experiences that shape how we see ourselves and our relationships • Solution focused approaches • Individual and couple/family exercises to practice new skills, deepen understanding, and carry the work beyond the therapy room What to Expect: Every child, relationship, and family is unique. During your consultation, we’ll take the time to understand what’s happening, what you’re hoping for, and what support would feel most helpful. From there, we’ll work together to create an approach that fits your family and your needs. For family or couples counselling, separate consultations are also available.
